Little Brewers Soon to Be Big Hits

As summer progresses, so have the skills of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Little Brewers! Since June, our young members have been learning the basics of the game of baseball. On July 8th, with the support of US Cellular, over 1,500 Boys & Girls Club staff and kids had the opportunity to celebrate their burgeoning talents at the 14th Little Brewers Annual Tailgate Party before the Milwaukee Brewers took on the San Francisco Giants.

During the tailgate, Milwaukee Brewer Ryan Braun gave a pre-game speech to the kids. He sponsors the Little Brewers program along with Brewers Community Foundation and Major League Baseball. Braun spoke about his childhood and how he became dedicated to playing baseball. He encouraged all of the kids to work persistently towards their goals and to always believe in themselves.

Later on inside Miller Park, US Cellular made an on-field check presentation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee for the state-wide Little Brewers Program.  Don & Sallie Davis Boys & Girls Club member, Jeremy Jones, got to throw the ceremonial first pitch. His pitch soared clear over home base.
