Majors Meets Careers brings professional advice to teens

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee’s Graduation Plus program hosted its third annual Majors Meets Careers mentoring workshop for Club teens in November. The event paired 43 Club members with 41 Wisconsin professionals from a wide range of fields.

Club teens dressed their best for the event, held at the Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club, and came prepared with questions to ask their professional mentors. While chatting over breakfast, the professional guests discussed their career paths and offered Club members valuable advice about making a strong impression with employers during interviews, networking with peers and positioning themselves for success after high school. The teen participants were thrilled with the opportunity to connect one-on-one with professionals who provided encouragement and shared lessons learned through real-world experience.

We are beyond grateful to the many generous professionals from the health care, education, law, marketing and many other fields who spent their Saturday morning mentoring our young adults.
