Longtime Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee supporters Keith Mardak and Mary Vandenberg have shown amazing generosity in providing for underserved youth in Milwaukee over the years. Their significant support of the Clubs in 2014 gave members access to the highest-quality instruction and experiential learning.
Keith and Mary’s generous contributions allowed 784 Club members to visit Junior Achievement’s Biz Town and Finance Park over two weeks last summer. The Finance Park features an interactive, simulated town in which students are introduced to personal finance and career exploration skills. Members are then given financial scenarios and must create a budget to account for expenses and investments while visiting 19 businesses in the simulated town.
Youth poured in from 27 different Boys & Girls Clubs after they completed a personal finance curriculum that spanned several weeks. Following the visit, 97 percent of students acknowledged the importance of staying in school and continuing their education after high school. Thank you for your support, Keith and Mary!
