Fishing tournament nets new experiences for Club kids

The first annual Reeling in the Future fishing tournament was held earlier this month, raising money for Club members to go on fishing excursions over the summer. The tournament was organized by Darren Festerling and Matthew Ayvazzadeh with the mission of introducing area youth to fishing for the first time in their lives.

Held on Pewaukee Lake, Reeling in the Future awarded cash prizes to three of the event’s 24 participants in the toothy, bass and panfish categories, and also featured a raffle for all visitors. The event brought in $4,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs’ young fishers, which will fund fishing rods, reels, tackle and tackle boxes for our youth to use. Our Club members will now get to enjoy weekly trips to the lake starting later this month on rented pontoon boats, a wonderful experience they’re sure to remember!

Thank you to Reeling in the Future’s sponsors and organizers for providing our youth with these great opportunities!
