Decade of Hope

Decade of Hope is a 10-year strategic plan that will allow the Boys & Girls Clubs to serve more than 40,000 youth from Milwaukee’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods with effective, outcome-based programming. The plan is built on five key components:

More Sites, More Days, More Hours
To reach more of the children facing the challenges of poverty, we will increase the number of sites and expand program hours. By 2017, the Boys & Girls Clubs' goal is to serve youth through 45 locations, serving 41,000 members.

Enhanced Programs
The Boys & Girls Clubs is enhancing programs at all sites to provide the best possible outcomes for our members. We are also maximizing the impact of key programs such as the SPARK Early Literacy Initiative, Sista Pride and Stein Scholars to better empower our members to succeed.

Responsible Infrastructure Growth
We are growing our infrastructure responsibly to accommodate the increase in membership. We have designed a high-quality youth worker training program to ensure staff is developing the skills necessary to positively shape the lives of young people.

Critical Community Involvement
The scope of problems Milwaukee faces is far too broad to be tackled by one single agency. It is critical we work collaboratively with other community partners that can contribute their expertise to finding solutions and offer our members a greater range of services.

Appropriate Capital Investment
Decade of Hope calls for improvements at several current Clubs, including appropriate signage, dedicated game rooms and multi-purpose rooms, dedicated workspace for employees and resources for start-up costs as we expand the number of school-based Clubs.
