Nine girls from Boys & Girls Clubs went on a special tour of Camp Whitcomb/Mason last month as part of the Clubs’ Celebrating G.I.R.L.S programming efforts. The opportunity was afforded to the Club members by Boys & Girls Clubs trustee Charlie James, whose generosity provided a full day of activities and lunch for the girls.
The girls’ tour through the diverse 300-acre land offered a glimpse into Camp’s long history of fun and educational opportunities offered to area youth. They engaged in a number of those activities, from taking a dip in the Camp pool at the Daniel M. Soref Aquatic Center to playing games on the Camp grounds. A favorite moment for a few of the visitors was the Camp’s small animal farm, which offered the girls the opportunity to pet and interact with animals such as a donkey and guinea pig.
We’re thankful to our trustee Charlie James for joining our girls at Camp Whitcomb/Mason for the day and for providing this memorable experience for our Club members!
