Celebrating life and learning during Boys & Girls Club Week

We proudly joined other Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation last week to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week, commemorating more than 4,000 safe places for American youth to learn and grow. Our 43 Clubs in the Greater Milwaukee area took part in several fun and engaging activities throughout the week to celebrate.

Fratney Club members were active during the week, holding kickball tournaments and relay races to get their energy levels up before learning about good hygiene habits and yoga techniques. Likewise, Milwaukee Collegiate Academy Club members experimented with different tasty smoothie combinations while discussing healthy dietary choices. Our Destiny High School Club teens enjoyed a visit from the Milwaukee Bucks’ Rim Rockers and got in touch with their artistic sides during a poetry night. Grantosa Club members were crafty, engaging in a kite-making contest before a challenging scavenger hunt, while our Pierce Club held a jump rope competition. Our Clubs also took the opportunity to hold lessons during learning sessions for our Club members; youth at our Cass Street Club completed an anti-bullying class and Martin Luther King, Jr. Club members learned about important figures in women’s history.

National Boys & Girls Club Week was a rousing success at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, as we celebrated the sorts of countless fun opportunities for our children to play and learn that occur at the Clubs every day. These year-round opportunities are made possible by the support of friends like you; thank you for celebrating our Club members with us!
