Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee enjoyed another successful summer providing safe places for the youth in our community. On an average day, 4,788 members attended a Boys & Girls Club, ensuring they had quality environments to play, learn and enjoy positive mentorship during the hottest months of the year in Milwaukee. We’re also excited to share that we served more than 309,000 free meals during the summer.
During that three-month period, we celebrated the success of our Club members. Our Senior RBI Baseball team enjoyed a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in the RBI World Series against youth teams from across the nation. We also rewarded 70 hard-working MarVan Scholars students with trips to Washington, D.C., made possible by the generosity of Senator Herb Kohl. Our visits to the nation’s capital was fun and education, just like the many other field trips Club members experienced during the summer to places such as Milwaukee Public Museum, Wisconsin Dells and the Milwaukee Zoo. Club members also enjoyed the outdoors at Camp Whitcomb/Mason, and some even enjoyed fishing trips on Pewaukee Lake.
We’re thankful to our many community partners for making this summer a success!
