High School: Hamilton High School

Anticipated Career Choice: Police Officer

“My peers and younger kids come to me for help or assistance. I love helping people.”

Disciplined with studies and school responsibilities, Denzel has a commitment to high standards and to achieving excellence in school while also playing basketball and being the life of the family. He carries over his great sense of humor with his peers in moments of conflict or seriousness to help lighten the mood.

Denzel is a well-rounded young man who enjoys socializing with his peers, playing basketball and talking with adults about opportunities to do different activities both inside and outside school. When he needs to, Denzel will step away from extracurricular activities to devote needed time to studies. Tenacity and enthusiasm help him with goal setting.

At Boys & Girls Clubs, Denzel is involved in Torch Club, Keystone Club, the basketball team and Passport to Manhood. He is often selected as a leader to assist with group activities or outings. Denzel has been a ball attendant with the Milwaukee Bucks and volunteered with its Hoop It Up activities. Denzel is also involved in various community service activities since he was eight years old. He enjoys helping other people whenever he is able. Denzel has helped create community clean ups, holiday bingo and scavenger hunts. He gives back to the community and is willing to try anything at least once.

“Keystone Club helped me realize life as a teen. It helped me learn ways to resolve issues or conflicts,” Denzel explains. “It showed me that life is what you make it.”
